While Chuck’s paintings were taking center stage at Fredericksburg Art Gallery in July, news came that this 9 x 12 painting, “Cross Mountain Trail,” won an Award of Merit at the annual Members Exhibition of the Plein Air Artists of Colorado! The show was held at the very prestigious Saks Gallery in Denver. Besides the ribbon and cash award, the painting sold at the show. Speaking of sales, “Last Light on the Homestead” was purchased at the opening of Chuck’s gallery show by the daughter of the elderly couple who live at the vintage German farm in rural Gillespie County. The daughter and her husband took great pride in explaining the history of each of the buildings in the scene. So, this painting found a perfect home! Note that the image was used for the cover of the postcard announcing the show and is still posted in the New Works album.
